Update 9/14/2008

Updates have been made to the Tournaments and Resources page.

This past weekend, PHUEL captains met for the Fall Organizational and scheduling meeting, an overview of the meeting can be found here. Captains who were unable to attend should feel free to contact teams through the league email, and are greatly encouraged to use the Forum to try to arrange games.
The biggest points from the meeting were encouraging DEVYL, changes in player fees starting in the spring, and date for States (Most likely Memorial Day weekend). Please check the agenda and email any questions to me.

All players are also greatly encouraged to sign up for DEVYL, the Youth Club league for the Philadelphia and surrounding areas. Information on the league can be found at http://scorereport.net/ultimate/devyl08/instructions.html. If any player, male or female, intends on trying out for the Open or Mixed Youth Club Championship team, they must participate in DEVYL. For more information, check out the website.

With tournaments in mind, tryouts for the 2009 Paganello World Beach Ultimate cup will be held at Cardinal O'Hara High School at 11:00 am on Sunday September 21st. Anyone who will not be 21 by August 2009 is eligible to play on the youth team. The tournament is held in Rimini, Italy from April 8th to the 14th. For more information please visit www.paganello.com. The team is coached by Tom Cook. All PHUEL players are encouraged to tryout. Cost is to be determined. Contact tomcook AT cooksclassroom DOT com for more.

Update 9/02/2008

Another great season of Ultimate is upon us. The semi-annual Captain/Coaches meeting will take place on September 13th at the Edgely Clubhouse at 11 A.M. Please be on time as there will be a lot to go over, as well as scheduling games. Please contact TomCook AT cooksclassroom DOT com if you have any questions, and check www.pada.org for directions to Edgely.

Congratulations to Isaac Saul, who is the captain for the Pennsbury Falcons, for his role in bringing a Gold Medal home, as the U.S. Juniors Team won at the World Ultimate and Guts Championships.
